If George Washington is the father of our country, and he is, Samuel Adams is the nation’s grandfather. Boston became the epi-center of the push for independence, largely because of Samuel Adams. Samuel Adams also recruited John Hancock and John Adams and others. One scholar whom we quote in the book, Under the Liberty Tree, said that basically the Declaration of Independence was the culmination of the life work of Samuel Adams.
